AN INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENT TO THE FIGHT AGAINST PANDEMICS EN
In recent decades, France has made a major financial commitment to fighting HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. France is maintaining its high level political and financial commitment to multilateral funds, contributing around €700 million a year since 2013.
Our mandat
To support beneficiary countries in the design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of funding allocated by the Global Fund to Fight HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Our governance
The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs chairs our steering committee, which defines our strategic orientations. Our implementation is ensured by Expertise France.
L'Initiative's committees bring together representatives from ministries, NGOs, development and research agencies. Their membership reflects the multi-dimensional and multi-actor spirit of the Global Fund.
OUR TEAM WITHIN EXPERTISE FRANCE
Since January 2015, L'Initiative's strategic direction and secretariat operations have been managed by a dedicated team within the health department of Expertise France, the country's public agency for international technical cooperation.
